2022 Little Wrangler Day Camp participants playing and painting Ukuleles

Little Wrangler Day Campers have spent their time at camp building and painting Ukuleles. This project has had support and help from Mae Orm and Arlaina Goddard helping to paint and teach the Ukulele, respectively. PAC provided over 80 Ukuleles to campers this summer! They worked with a local artist, Mae Orm, to create a vision for what they wanted their ukulele to look like, and then they made that vision a reality. Campers had the opportunity to sand and paint their own ukulele, and then PAC staff worked to assemble all 80+ instruments. After the ukuleles were complete, Arlaina Goddard came in and provided four different ukulele lessons to over 80 campers. After the lessons, each of our three camp groups went to either the Sublette Center or Rendezvous Point and performed, "You Are My Sunshine" during the seniors' lunchtime. They also put on a performance for parents at the end of the summer, which can be found on the PAC facebook page! This was made possible by a Community Support grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.

The Little Wrangler Day Camp Art Enhancement Program is supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming Legislature. Through grants, partnerships, programs and unique opportunities, the Wyoming Arts Council provides funding and support statewide for projects big and small. The WAC plays an important role in the economic and social development of every community by investing in the arts. It awards almost 150 grants and fellowships each year, funding programs and projects from every county, thereby serving more than a million participants, including 1.1m adults, 200k youth, 10k artists, and 1.3m people total. For every $1 of Arts Council funding, local communities provided another $35 worth of arts programming in FY16, with an estimated project value of $32,167,251.

Friends of PAC ensures supplemental funding and community engagement for ongoing recreational services and facilities in support of the Pinedale Aquatic Center. Find more information at www.welovepac.com and on Facebook at FriendsofPac.
