We’re through the Thanksgiving holiday and vacation travels and post-Christmas, and the numbers are still declining for cases and hospitalizations for COVID-19 patients in Wyoming. As of Monday, December 27th, there were only 65 patients reported across the state. Patient cases for the second wave peaked October 21st and have been steadily declining since then in Wyoming. St. John’s Hospital in Jackson reports just 1 COVID-19 patient as of Dec. 27th.

There have only been 5 omicron variant cases detected in the state to date. Most cases in Wyoming are still Delta and Alpha.

There have been no deaths in the state reported since December 13th. There have been no deaths at all in the state due to COVID-19 in the two years of the pandemic in anyone age 18 or under. Over 80% of the deaths in the state due to COVID-19 have been in people age 60 and over with additional health conditions.
