COVID Update
The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) reported another death of a Sublette County resident this week, bringing our total to 10 deaths since the pandemic began. WDH also reports that there have been 14 new COVID-19 cases in Sublette County in the past week. There are currently 11 active cases in Sublette County, with 873 recoveries and 10 deaths, for a total of 894 cases since the pandemic began. Individuals are quarantining/isolating in the communities of Big Piney, Boulder, Marbleton, and Pinedale.

The Delta Variant continues to be the dominant strain spreading throughout Sublette County and the State of Wyoming. While WDH has placed Sublette County in the Light Green Zone for community spread this week, most of the state is in the Red or High Transmission Zone.

COVID-19 Vaccines
A third vaccine dose is now being recommended for a limited group of Wyoming residents with certain medical conditions, according to WDH. According to Dr. Alexia Harrist, State Health Officer and State Epidemiologist said those who should consider an additional vaccine dose at this time include the following groups:

Those receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
Those who have received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
Those who have received a stem cell transplant within the last two years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
Those with moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
Anyone with advanced or untreated HIV infection
Anyone who is undergoing active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress immune response
More important details about the current third-dose recommendation from the CDC can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations/immuno.html.
