For those who might be looking for opportunities to give last-minute charitable donations to local organizations, here is a list of local non-profits. (This may not be all of them, but it is the best list we have – our apologies if we missed anyone!). During this year of COVID-19 restrictions, many organizations could not hold their usual fundraising events and functions, and many are hurting going into 2021 trying to manage their finances to do what they do to help people in the upcoming year. The recent CARES Act added a $300 charitable contribution deduction whether you itemize your deductions or not. Normally you would have to itemize deductions to get the write off. People who donate up to $300 will get that back on their tax returns right off the top. Check with your tax advisor for details.
