Teton County expected to enter stabilization phase mid-May
April 22, 2020

The Teton County Health Department sent a letter to businesses and organizations explaining more about the economic stabilization plan moving forward for Teton County. An Economic Recovery Task Force has been created which is made up of individuals from businesses, organizations and governmental leaders in the community. Based on current modeling, the letter says it is their intent to enter the Stabilization Phase in Teton County sometime around mid-May 2020. Click on this link to read the letter.

Below is the letter:
April 20, 2020 Stabilization Phase Letter to Businesses and Organizations:

As you are aware, Teton District Public Health Order #20-4 which limits gatherings to only individuals in your household, was issued on March 30, 2020 and is effective through April 30, 2020.

Three (3) Statewide Health Orders are still in effect. On April 3, 2020, the State Health Officer extended all three Statewide Health Orders to be effective through April 30th:
State-wide Public Health Order #1: Temporary closing of bars, dine-in restaurants, theaters, gymnasiums, childcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and trade schools.
State-wide Public Health Order #2: Forbidding gatherings of 10 people or more.
State-wide Public Health Order #3: Temporary closing of nail salons, hair salons, barbershops, massage services, tattoo, body art, and piercing shops, and cosmetology, electrology, and esthetic services.

To read all health orders, recommendations and directives still in effect please click here. We are working to balance the competing priorities of public health and the local economy, while continuing to look for new and innovative ways that allow businesses to operate safely during this pandemic.

The Stabilization Phase of this public health emergency aims to reopen onsite businesses, organizations and commercial facilities in a scaled fashion. Based on current modeling, it is our intent to enter this Stabilization Phase in Teton County sometime around mid-May 2020.

To that end, we will work with the Teton District Health Officer to create public health recommendations as needed.

The level of the requirements will reflect the level of risk to public health and may include the following:
• Increased hygiene of staff and employees
• Mandatory cloth face coverings
• Physical distancing (separation of 6 feet or more)
• Required symptom checking and restriction of sick employees
• Increased cleaning and sanitizing procedures
• Required messaging
• Rotating staff schedules or teleworking

Different business sectors and organizations may present unique public health risks that are not addressed in the above minimum requirements. As a result, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce has taken the lead in creating an Economic Recovery Task Force which is made up of individuals from businesses, organizations and governmental leaders in our community. This task force will help to develop sector specific protocols to assist in the reopening businesses.

Sincerely,
Jodie Pond Jodie Pond
MPH Director of Health
Teton County Health Department
