December 3, 2019

The Pinedale Fine Arts Council (PFAC) is proud to present Lightwire Theater’s "A Very Electric Christmas" on December 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sheppard (Pinedale) Auditorium.

Lightwire Theater has been featured as semi-finalists on NBC's America’s Got Talent and winners of Tru TV's Fake Off. The group combines theater and technology to bring stories to life in complete darkness and are internationally recognized for their signature brand of electroluminescent artistry.

Brighten your holidays with Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas! Audiences of all ages will treasure this magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope set to timeless holiday hits.

In this wonderful story, Santa’s helpers are putting the final touches on presents as a young bird named Max and his family head south for the winter. Poor Max gets blown off course during a snowstorm, and he ends up alone and lost at the North Pole. As he tries to make his way home, his adventure begins when he encounters friendly caroling worms, dancing poinsettias, Nutcracker soldiers, mischievous mice and an evil Rat King. This delightful holiday production will make children wide-eyed with delight and warm even the smallest of hearts.

Lightwire Theater creators, Ian Carney and Corbin Popp, met while dancing in Twyla Tharp’s broadway show Movin’ Out. An immediate connection was made as they discovered their mutual love of art, theater and technology. After coming across a product called, "El wire," the lights turned on. "El wire" is short for electroluminescent wire: unlike black lights, the technology can be powered by batteries and requires no theatrical lighting. The possibilities seemed endless. Together, with their wives Eleanor and Whitney, they began to develop puppetry-based creatures that quickly came to life. After years of engineering and development, Lightwire Theater was founded in 2007. They were launched into the national spotlight as semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent (season 7), and haven’t looked back since. Based in New Orleans, Lightwire continues to create and deliver innovative theatrical experiences to audiences worldwide including: Paris, Hong Kong, Estonia, Canada, Taiwan, Belarus, Abu Dhabi and the mainland of China where they have performed for six consecutive years. Their shows have been performed at more than 150 venues in the United States where they have had more than five shows that have toured. They were finalists on My TF1’s, The Best Le Meilleur Artiste and were the winners of TruTv’s Fake Off.
Lightwire Theater is internationally recognized for their signature brand of electroluminescent artistry, poignant storytelling and music scores designed to evoke imagery.
