Open House for Green River Lakes Lodge June 23
June 21, 2018

The Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest will host an Open House on Saturday, June 23rd from 10AM to 3PM to celebrate the opening of the Green River Lakes Lodge as a facility that becomes a part of the U.S. Forest Serviceís public cabin rental program.

The Green River Lakes Lodge, which was once part of the historic GP Bar Guest Ranch, hasnít been open to the public for over 50 years. It is located on the shoreline of Green River Lake, with a magnificent view of the lake and Square Top Mountain. The lodge has been cleaned up and members of the Sublette County Historic Preservation Board compiled historical information and created photo displays about the GP Bar Guest Ranch which have been placed throughout the cabin.

On May 14, 2018 the US Forest Service began accepting reservations for public rental of this facility. By 5:00 PM on May 14, this 2-bedroom cabin was fully booked for public rental from July 1 through November 15, 2018.

In 2018, the Lodge will be available for public rental beginning July 1 through November 15, and December 15 through April 15 each year. The Lodge will be closed for maintenance and repairs from November 15 to December 14, and April 16 to June 30 each year. These dates may vary based on the road conditions, weather, or maintenance needs. The Lodge will be available for day use events such as weddings, family reunions, or meetings for up to 50 guests at one time, or as an overnight rental for smaller groups of up to 12 guests per night. Views from the Lodge include Green River Lake and Square Top Mountain, which can be seen from the living room and master bedroom. A fee of $100/night will be charged from July-September, when drinking water, flush toilets, and showers will be available. During the colder parts of the year, a fee of $75/night will be charged as water will not be provided. Through the Recreation Enhancement Act, 95% of proceeds collected from the lodge will be returned to the Bridger-Teton National Forest for maintenance and upkeep of this facility.

Everyone is invited to the Open House on Saturday, June 23rd to tour the newly reopened cabin. The Open House will be from 10AM to 3PM. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Sublette County Historic Preservation Board and Bridger-Teton National Forest.
