Pinedale Fine Arts Council turns 40
Announces lineup for their 2016-2017 season
August 29, 2016
The Pinedale Fine Arts Council (PFAC) is proud to announce the lineup for its 2016-2017 season, which also marks the organization’s the 40th anniversary.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 19: THE RUSSIAN STRING ORCHESTRA
Founded in 1991, The Russian String Orchestra, comprised of some of Russia's finest young string players, has carved a niche for itself under the creative baton of its founder and music director Misha Rachlevsky. Whether it is their highly-acclaimed CDs or mesmerizing concerts, Chamber Orchestra Kremlin's warmth and high energy create addictive performances that stay with listeners long after the last note has been played.
SATURDAY DECEMBER 3: THE NUTCRACKER
The Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier will fly you away to the Snow Kingdom and the Land of the Sweets, but not before battling the not-so-scary Mouse King and his Pirate Hench-mice. For the very first time in Pinedale, PFAC is happy to present the classic holiday ballet the Nutcracker! Performed by the acclaimed dance troupe Eugene Ballet, the production will feature over 20 student dancers from Sublette County in smaller roles. (auditions for student dancers will be held Sept. 23 visit pinedalefinearts.com for details).
TUESDAY JANUARY 17: PUMP BOYS & DINETTES
PFAC will bring a full cast and crew from New York for the hit Broadway musical Pump Boys and Dinettes. The 'Pump Boys' sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country and the 'Dinettes', Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country western songs that received unanimous raves on and off-Broadway. With heartbreak and hilarity, they perform on guitars, piano, bass and, yes, kitchen utensils.
THURSDAY APRIL 20: BROADWAY’S NEXT H!T MUSICAL
Every song is fresh. Every scene is new. Every night is different. It’s all improvised and it’s all funny. The hysterical Broadway’s Next H!T Musical is the only unscripted theatrical awards show. Master improvisers gather made up, hit song suggestions from the audience and create a spontaneous evening of music, humor, and laughter. The audience votes for their favorite song and watches as the cast turns it into a full blown improvised musical - complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue, and plot twists galore.
