August 27th deadline for School Board candidate filings
by Pinedale Online!
August 25, 2012
This coming Monday, August 27, is the deadline for two different groups of candidates seeking elected office.
For anyone seeking to be on the General Election ballot for offices such as State Legislature or County Commissioner as an independent candidate, petitions must be turned in by 5 PM on Monday. For State Legislature, the petitions must be turned in to the Secretary of State in Cheyenne, and for independent candidates for County Commissioner, they must be turned in to the County Clerk's Office at the Courthouse in Pinedale. Those candidates who appeared on Tuesday's Primary Election ballot and lost are not eligible to be on the General Election ballot as an independent candidate.
The other group of candidates facing a deadline this Monday are school board candidates. Those wishing to be on the ballot for school board must fill out an application and turn it in to the County Clerk's office at the Courthouse in Pinedale by Monday, August 27th at 5:00 PM. These school board candidates need only to fill out an application; they do not need a petition containing signatures of voters.
