 The Wyoming Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency  Management Agency (FEMA) are hosting four meetings in Wyoming during   the  week of September 19, 2011. The purpose of these meetings is to provide information to local governments on the recent flood disaster,  the availability of FEMA hazard mitigation grant funding for projects  to  reduce future disaster losses and information pertinent to updating  your  local hazard mitigation plans to reflect new projects and priorities.

 Meeting Objectives:
  Provide an overview on the flood disaster and the presidential disaster declaration.
 
  Provide information on the availability and application process for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)  and other mitigation grant funds to implement local natural hazard  mitigation projects and to develop or update hazard mitigation plans.  (HMGP is also known as 404 mitigation funds, as it is authorized by Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency  Assistance Act).
 
  Identify potential HMGP projects listed in your local hazard mitigation plans and discuss new projects identified post  disaster.
 
  Discuss needed updates to local mitigation plans based on disaster experience, including updating actions and priorities.
