Late spring storm expected in Wyoming
Will bring snow to much of central Wyoming

The National Weather Service out of Riverton is advising of a late spring storm on the way which is expected to bring significant snow accumulations to much of central Wyoming.
“A powerful storm system will affect Wyoming.mainly east of the Divide.late tonight through Saturday night. This storm is currently over western Nevada and will dive East SE to near the four corners area on Saturday,” according to the advisory.
The storm track is expected to develop across central Wyoming late Friday night through Saturday evening, bringing rain and snow to lower elevations Saturday morning.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the area east of the Wind River Mountains through Saturday evening. The east side of the Wind River and Casper Mountains are expected to get between 10 to 14 inches of snow by Saturday evening. Areas from Lander through the Green Mountains and Rattlesnake Range to Casper could receive 3 to 8 inches of wet snow, with windy conditions expected. Snowfall amounts in the lower elevations will greatly depend on how quickly the rain changes to snow.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Travelers are advised to continue to monitor the latest weather forecasts and road condition reports
The Togwotee Pass area is expected to get from 2 to 4 inches of snow.
The snow, combined with very windy conditions, could make for hazardous travel over South Pass.
