2007 Fremont Lake Ice Fishing Derby

The Pinedale Boat Club sponsored their annual Big Fish Ice Fishing Derby on Fremont Lake on Saturday & Sunday, March 3-4th. More than 350 intrepid sportspersons signed up to brave the cold wind on Saturday, but were rewarded with a beautiful day Sunday. Participants came from all over Wyoming and from Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, Oklahoma, Florida and Kentucky.

Curtis Hendricks was the 1st Place winner on Saturday, winning the $1000 prize, with his 21.6 pound, 38-1/2" Lake trout. Amy Parrish won 1st Place on Sunday with a 12.8 pound, 35-1/8" Lake trout.

New ice augers went to Dave Parrish for Best Guess on Size of the Biggest Fish entered and to Jacob Angelovich for the Smallest Fish Entered. Leesa Pasquin won a knife for having the most entries without winning a prize. Shannon reach won the drawing for an Ice Tent.

Hourly Big Fish winners of $100 included Bob Wilson, Gary Burstad, Dave Pape, Daniel Taylor, Howard Harper, Alex Phillips, Kelin George, Ivie Deninno, Joe Sonderoth, Trent Jacobson, Walter Halton, Curtis Hendricks, John Fabian, Ryan Coston, Ray Pecolar and Mark Steel.

The Boat Club donated $1000 to the new Pregnancy Center of Sublette County and $1000 to Kickin' Cancer in Sublette County.

Charlie Golden, Pinedale Boat Club Commodore, thanked all the sponsors who contributed, with special thanks going to Lakeside Lodge for providing their facilities, along with Western Wyoming Beverage and Budweiser for their support.

Many other sponsors donated cash and prizes.
