Sled dog teams and mushers will spend three days in Pinedale during the Pinedale Stage Stop of the 2005 IPSSSDR. Teams will arrive on Sunday, January 30th and stay until Tuesday, February 1st. A Musher Reception is scheduled for Sunday night at Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale. Official IPSSSDR races will be held Monday and Tuesday for the Pinedale stage. Teams will leave Pinedale and travel to Alpine Tuesday afternoon for the next stage.

Sunday, Jan. 30: PINEDALE MUSHER RECEPTION
The Sublette County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Musher Reception in Pinedale at the new Senior Center, Rendezvous Pointe, starting at 6 pm. Mushers and teams will arrive Sunday afternoon after racing in Lander that morning. The reception includes a dinner of BBQ beef and home-made desserts. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The dinner is a fundraiser for the Chamber. There will be a Calcutta to auction off the teams at the end of the reception. Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.

Monday, Jan. 31: UPPER GREEN RACE
Monday morning, teams will run a 40-mile loop race in the Upper Green. Staging will be at the Upper Green River parking lot at the end of the pavement at the BTNF Forest boundary on Cora Highway 352. This leg is comprised of a loop up the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail, approximately 40 miles. Race starts at noon. When complete, mushers will prepare for their only campout of the race. No public function is planned for Monday evening.

Tuesday, Feb. 1: UPPER GREEN TO PINEDALE RACE
Tuesday morning, mushers and teams will race from the Upper Green to Pinedale, starting at 9 am. This leg of the race is approximately 30 miles and offers some of the best spectator viewing of the entire race. Mushers will travel along the Green River Drift corridor alongside Hwy. 352 to US Hwy 191. From there, they will travel on the north side of Hwy 191 along the right-of-way into the west end of Pinedale. Teams should start arriving at the finish line at the American Legion Park as early as 10:30 or 11 am on Tuesday morning. Mushers will be coming straight into town on Pine Street/Hwy 191. Concessions and hot drinks will be available at the finish line. Winners of the Calcutta will be announced. At the completion of the Pinedale Stage Stop, mushers and teams will leave to race in Alpine on Wednesday.
