Local singer performs in Carnegie Hall
April 30, 2026
Singer Valerie Lee performed in New York City's Carnegie Hall on April 13, 2026 under the baton of renown composer/conductor Eric Whitacre.
Lee auditioned for and was accepted by DCINY (Distinguished Concerts International New York) in early December, 2025, among hundreds of singers from all over the world for their spring concert at Carnegie Hall featuring works by composer/conductor Eric Whitacre. The combined choir sang 13 pieces including five in Hebrew and one in Latin, all of which had to be memorized.
"Carnegie Hall has exquisite acoustics which made the great honor of being chosen even more profound," she said.
Raised in Pinedale, Val is well-known as co-founder of Pinedale Theatre Company, director of Voices 8 ensemble and Sisters of the Heart women's hospice choir.
