The northern lights, auroras, are rarely seen in Wyoming, but the show on Tuesday night, November 11th was spectacular. The event was caused by a coronal mass ejection, CME, a large cloud of energetic and highly magnetized plasma that erupted from the sun into space. These geomagnetic storm conditions have treated sky watchers across the northern states with colorful night skies with dazzling pinks, greens, yellows and deep reds.
Local photographer, Dave Bell has posted some of his aurora pictures here: Spectacular Aurora Show – Nov 12-13 Album Dave Bell Photo Gallery
