Terry Allen took this picture of Andrew McGahuey from Rock Springs and his German Brown at Green River Lakes on Sunday, Oct. 18th.
Editorís Update, 10/20/15: Well, this picture generated quite a bit of exchange between fishermen who questioned the identification of this fish as a German Brown. Some insisted it was a lake trout, others suggested it might be a splake (lake/brook trout hybrid). We got the definitive word from Wyoming Game & Fish Fish Biologist Darren Rhea who IDíd it as a lake trout. Apparently it is important to know the difference because there are different rules for the different species, which have distinctive markings, spotting, and either flat or forked tails.
