Local artists to attend annual Wyoming Artists' Association Convention May 2-4

The annual convention of the Wyoming Artists' Association will be held in Dubois May 2, 3, and 4, 2014, at the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center in Dubois, Wyoming. This year's theme is "Come Fly With Me".
WAA president, Kay Meeks, of Daniel announced that several artists from Sublette County will attend the event: Sandy Brewer of Daniel; Debbie Despain, Debi Morley, Ruth Rawhouser, and Sharon Schell of Big Piney; Laurie LaMere and Madeleine Murdock of Pinedale; Holland Morelli of Cora; and Charmian McLellan of Boulder.
The weekend activities include a Quick Draw and art auction, workshops, art show and sale, breakfast buffets, luncheon and business meeting, costume banquet, and announcement of the 2014 Grand Wyoming Artist. Show categories include Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Graphics, Pastel, Sculpture, Pottery, Miniature, Theme, "Other" Mediums, Governor's Show (a piece will be chosen to be displayed in the governor's office in Cheyenne for a year), Congressional Show (three pieces will be chosen to be displayed in Wyoming's senators' and representative's Washington, D. C., offices for a year), and "Past President's" Show.
Workshop artists are Bill Sawczuk of Jackson, oil; Jerry Antolik of Hudson, drawing; and Judy Gonet Jones of Thayne and Jackson, watercolor.
