Storage Tank training program offered by Wyoming DEQ
by Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality
February 18, 2014
The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Storage Tank Program (STP) will be hosting storage tank training courses in February and March of this year.
The classes are intended to educate storage tank operators on leak detection and leak prevention for regulated storage tank systems. This training will also assist operators in gaining a better knowledge of the Storage Tank Act of 2007 and Wyoming Water Quality Rules and Regulations (WWQRR), Chapter 17.
According to Oma Gilbreth, STP Compliance Supervisor, these classes offer an opportunity for STP personnel to meet with storage tank operators and to assist them with gaining a better understanding of the regulations that apply to their storage tank systems.
"Over 1,700 storage tank operators have attended these classes since 2006," said Gilbreth. "During that time, we have seen a remarkable increase in compliance rates at regulated facilities."
The classes will be free of charge and will be held at the following locations: Kemmerer on February 19, Sheridan on March 18, Cody on March 20, and Cheyenne on March 25. All classes will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Those interested in attending, can contact Dalen Jurgens at 307-777-5877 for registration and class information.
