Wednesday, Dec. 18 report: Due to lack of snow, the trails have not been groomed since last Saturday, but most of the trails are in pretty good shape. There are some wind-blown spots in Upper and Lower Surveyor, but they are still skiable. Also thin coverage on Kelly Tie-in and the trail from Kelly Parking to Nordic Building. Hoping for snow tomorrow… Also, please folks, remove your pet poo from the trail. It’s imperative to keep it off the trail, not only for me trying to groom, but for all the other trail users. A couple of suggestions, I like to carry a small garden shovel in my hip pocket or fanny pack or a plastic bag to throw it off with, then turn it inside out and dispose of it properly. Thanks, Mike

Editor's Note: White Pine Ski Area is open Thursdays through Sundays for the winter ski/snowboard season. Lifts run from 9AM to 4PM and the lodge has food service available from 11AM to 3PM. The road is paved, but may be snow-packed and icy in places. Be prepared for more traffic on Skyline Drive both ways on the road - use caution on curves and avoid excessive speed. Watch for wildlife along the road.
