February 27, 2013
The Pinedale Hockey Association will be hosting the 2012-2013 Wyoming Amateur Hockey League (WAHL) Peewee State Tournament at the Sublette County Ice Arena in Pinedale on March 1-3.
Eleven teams from communities across Wyoming will be competing in the tournament, including Park County, Casper, Cheyenne, Douglas, Gillette, Laramie, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan and Pinedale.
The games kick off on Friday with our own Pinedale Glaciers facing off against the Casper Oilers at 5:30 pm followed by the Laramie Outlaws challenging the Riverton River Rats at 7:00 pm. Games will be played throughout the day on Saturday with the first to begin at 8:00 am, and the last game starting at 8:00 pm.
On Sunday, the consolation games will be at 7:00, 8:30, and 10:00 am. The B Division Championship playoff begins at 11:30 and the A Division championship game at 1:00 pm.
Raffles tickets will be available to purchase at the rink for a variety of baskets, hockey sticks, etc. Money collected from the raffles helps the Pinedale Hockey Association defer the cost of hosting the tournament. Concessions will also be available with proceeds going to People to People Ambassadors Australia Trip youth participants.
In addition to fund raising raffles, a 50/50 benefit raffle will be offered with proceeds going to help a Rock Springs player who was diagnosed with Lymphoma earlier in the season. Individual players from the Pinedale Peewee team have also gone door to door to help raise money to help with her medical expenses and travel to treatments.
The Pinedale Hockey Association, as well and the Pinedale Glacier Peewees, would like to thank the members of the community who have so generously donated to help make this tournament possible.
