Rocky Mountain Power Foundation grant helps bring cultural performances to Sublette County
by Rocky Mountain Power Foundation
February 15, 2012

The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has awarded a $3,000 grant to the Pinedale Fine Arts Council to help support its 2011-2012 season of arts programming and education in Sublette County.

The Pinedale Fine Arts Council was formed in 1976 with a single performance from the Utah Symphony. From that single performance 35 years ago, the organization has grown to include five season ticket performances, a free summer park series and three to four intimate coffeehouse performances. More than 5,100 students and community members are reached annually through artist residencies, workshops, performances and community outreach. In 1983, the Pinedale Fine Arts Council was recognized by State of Wyoming as a recipient of the Governor's Arts Award. This grant helps the council continue to provide culturally diverse professional performances to Sublette County residents of all ages from preschool children to senior citizens.

Specific goals for the Councilís 2011-12 season include expanding outreach into the neighboring communities of Big Piney and Marbleton, the addition of a free public performance to the Pinedale Dancersí Workshop residency and including a week-long visual arts residency in the county high schools which focused on encaustic painting.

"Rocky Mountain Power Foundation is pleased to join with the Pinedale Fine Arts Council in supporting fine arts in the Pinedale area," said Joe Drnas, Rocky Mountain Power customer and community manager.

"We are delighted to receive this very generous grant from the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation and greatly appreciate their continued support and investment in the Pinedale Fine Arts Councilís mission," said Dana Tully, Pinedale Fine Arts Council Executive Director. "This grant helps ensure that the quality of our programming and residency activities continues and reaches all members of our diverse community. We want to thank Rocky Mountain Power Foundation for its vision and support."

Tully explained the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation grant will help the Pinedale Fine Arts Council produce a performing arts season with an extensive arts education component.
