The lightning-caused Sawtooth Fire is located approximately eight miles northeast of Bondurant on south slope of Tosi Peak in the Sawtooth Range. It is about ¼ acre in size.
Objectives for the fire:
•Safety of fire fighter, aviation, support personnel, and the public is the highest priority at all times for the duration of the incident.
•Allow fire to play its natural role in the ecosystem as a process of ecological change.
•Provide and maintain timely communications and information to the public.
•Protect values at risk from any fire damage. Fire managers will monitor the fire's progress during the upcoming weeks and adjust management actions as needed.
Smoke may be seen from Bondurant and surrounding area.
