Storm expected to dampen Father's Day activities
Rain, snow up high, temps 20-25 degrees below normal
by National Weather Service
June 17, 2011

Another strong low pressure center spinning over southwest Canada will shift southeast into Wyoming this weekend. A widespread precipitation event will accompany this weather feature across western and central Wyoming mainly Sunday and into Sunday night. Precipitation amounts of one half of an inch are likely in much of the higher terrain with local amounts over one inch, many lower elevation locations will receive between one quarter to one half of an inch. The precipitation will likely linger into Monday.

In addition, 4 to 8 inches of snow are likely to occur above 9000 feet during this time frame. Temperatures will run about 20 to 25 degrees below normal Sunday and Sunday night. Anyone with any outdoor interests this weekend including campers and boaters should prepare for unseasonably cold wet weather by Sunday and into Sunday night.
