The Pinedale Fine Arts Council will present a free Cajun cooking demonstration and acoustic guitar workshop conducted by Louisiana’s The Red Stick Ramblers on Thursday Oct. 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sublette County Library Lovatt Room. This special event serves as a pre-cursor to the Red Stick Ramblers public performance on Friday October 15 (Pinedale Auditorium, 7 p.m.).
The format for the evening will begin with The Red Stick Rambler’s singer and fiddler Lynzy Young giving a demonstration on real Cajun cooking. As of this release, we’re not sure what exactly Young will be cooking up but we do know it will be delicious – Young has given similar demonstrations at Cajun Cooking Festivals across the nation. Attendees will get to sample Young’s finished product but this is by no-means a full dinner so be sure to eat prior or grab something after.
During the cooking demo, members of the Red Stick Ramblers will also host a free acoustic workshop shop showcasing Cajun and swing music. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own acoustic instruments if they play, as portions of the workshop will be hands-on and group playing. If you don’t have an instrument you’re still more than welcome to attend!
To sign up for the Cajun Cooking Demo / Acoustic Workshop please call PFAC at 307-367-7322 or email us at email@example.com. The evening is free, but we’d like to have a good idea of how many folks will be showing up, so please call!
And be sure to catch the Red Stick Ramblers live at the Pinedale Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 15 beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at Rock Rabbit, Cowboy Shop, Office Outlets, the Big Piney Library and at the door ($2 extra).
