The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office is seeking comments on an application for construction and operation of a 42-mile long, 6-inch condensate pipeline in Sublette and Lincoln counties, Wyo.

The proposed pipeline would transport condensate from the Pinedale Anticline gas field to the pipeline terminal just south of LaBarge, Wyo. Approximately 22 miles of the pipeline would be constructed with in designated corridor areas. The remaining 20 miles would parallel an existing 230 kV power line and other existing infrastructure. Construction is anticipated to commence in the spring of 2010, and be completed by fall, 2010.

This pipeline proposed by Ultra Resources Inc. would fulfill a requirement from the Pinedale Anticline Project Area Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision (ROD) that operators in the Pinedale Anticline gas field install a liquids gathering system to reduce the amount of truck traffic associated with production within two years after the signing of the ROD for the benefit of wildlife and air quality.

The BLM manages more land – 256 million acres – than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western States, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM’s multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Bureau accomplishes this by managing such activities as outdoor recreation, livestock grazing, mineral development, and energy production, and by conserving natural, historical, cultural, and other resources on public lands.
