CenturyTel invests over $700,000 in local network
Increased reliability and access to advanced technology cited as benefits to customer

(Pinedale, Wyo) - CenturyTel, the provider of communication services for Pinedale recently invested $739 thousand to improve the local communications network.
"CenturyTel believes that people who live in rural areas and smaller communities should have the same technology that is available in major metropolitan areas," said Al Davis area operations manager for CenturyTel. "Between the advances in applications available to users such as gaming, instant messaging and chatter, along with the growth of the CenturyTel’s Internet customer base, our network’s bandwidth could not support the demand. While it took some time from planning to implementation, our recent upgrades to the network now provide the community with the speed and reliability it needs from a local Internet provider."
CenturyTel investments in the state of Wyoming’s communications infrastructure total over $24 million. This most recent upgrade expands the carrying capacity of its circuits, eliminates the slowdowns in Internet traffic and provides for more reliable connections. The company expects to continue to its improvements to the network, and is positioned to deliver new technologies as they become available.
