Caryn Bing Memorial Writing workshop for 4th & 5th Graders

Sublette County Artists Guild is sponsoring the “Caryn Bing Memorial Writing Workshop” on Thursday and Friday, June 12 & 13. The free workshop is for open to any and all 4th and 5th graders living in Sublette County interested in writing prose and poetry.

Dates are:
Thursday, June 12, 2008: 10:00AM to 3:00 PM, Big Piney Library
Friday, June 13, 2008: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Pinedale Library

The Thursday, June 12 workshop will be held at the Big Piney Library. It is for students from the LaBarge and Big Piney areas.

The Friday session, June 13, is for students living in the northern part of the county, and will be held at the Pinedale Library. Both sessions will begin at 10:00 am and will end at 3:00 pm.

There is no charge for the workshops.

In the morning, a series of mini-lessons will be presented by members of the Artists’ Guild and will be followed by lunch. Immediately after lunch each participant will write an original story or poem. Members of the Artists’ guild will judge the writings, and in each session prizes will be awarded to the top three entries of both narrative and poetry writing.

The first place winners of the two categories will win $50. All of the entries form both workshops will be copies, bound in a spiral folder, and presented to each writer at a later date.
