Strong winds brought in large amounts of dust from out of the area into the Upper Green River Valley Tuesday, obscuring visibility of the Wind River Mountain Range.

Local KPIN radio station got some phone calls from concerned citizens in the Boulder area complaining about coughing and having trouble breathing. Some had questions asking if the cloud was coming from nearby natural gas development?

Officials with the Sublette County Emergency Management Team looked into the matter and determined the cloud was just dust that was blowing in from Utah.

Personnel at the Pinedale Medical Clinic reported no unusual increase of calls or visits from patients complaining of respiratory difficulties.

People at the Boulder Store said they hadn't noticed any problems with the air that was causing people to have trouble breathing.

The dust storm was a reminder that Mother Nature can throw things our way that quickly reduce our local visibility and air quality due to natural causes such as dust storms and smoke from fires blowing in from neighboring states.
