February 7, 2008
Reminder: Thursday, February 7 is the final day for the public to send in comments to the Big Piney Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) regarding the Plains Exploration & Production Company proposal to drill one to three exploratory oil and gas wells on National Forest lands near Bondurant.
The BTNF prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement which was released in February 2007. If the exploratory wells are successful, Phase II of the project would involve potentially developing the field with 16 additional well pads that would involve 133 bottomhole locations over a ten-year period.
