Conservation District Public Land Use Policy draft available
Official policies on Public Lands Management within the boundaries of Sublette County
February 23, 2008
The Sublette County Conservation District published a Notice of Intent to Adopt a Public Land Use Policy.
The Public Land Use Policies Statement reflects the Sublette County Conservation Districts desire to advise Public Land Agencies of the Conservation Districtís official policies on Public Lands Management within the boundaries of Sublette County. The document will be adopted to facilitate the Districtís activities in federal land management and land use planning.
Federal laws and regulations provide that federal land use plans be consistent with local land use policies. If the local county and agencies donít have a policy or plan in place, then those agencies find it difficult to get an official ďseat at the tableĒ during the planning stage of federal land management use decisions.
A public comment period will begin on February 21, 2008 and continue for 45 days scheduled to end on April 05, 2008. The purpose for this comment period is to give the public and public land use agencies adequate time to comment on these policies.
Copies of the proposed Sublette County Conservation District Public Land Use Policies are available at the Pinedale and Big Piney Libraries or from the Conservation District. Digital versions are available at the links below.
