Wreath & Chocolate Auction Dec. 1
Fundraiser for the Museum of the Mountain Man
December 1, 2006
The Museum of the Mountain Man will host their annual Wreath and Chocolate Auction on Friday, December 1, starting at 6:00 pm at Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale. The event is an important fundraiser for the Museum, which uses the proceeds to help fund programs and projects for the museum throughout the year.
This is the 13th annual Wreath and Chocolate Auction. The Museum, and its parent organization the Sublette County Historical Society, always look forward to the festive event. Members of the community generously donate many beautiful wreaths, swags and chocolate delights. First Bank is the major sponsor for the event, and will be providing hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer. Auctioneer Jay Fear will conduct the bidding on the wreaths. The Chocolate Auction will be by silent auction.
Those attending the Wreath Auction will be able to cast their vote for the “People’s Choice Award” wreath. A new category has been added for this year, “The Champion’s Category”. This will be a wreath or table design voted by the SCHS Board to enter into final competitive bidding.
The event is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. It’s a fun event and a great way to see the beautiful holiday creations of our talented local artists with their wreath, swags and holiday center piece donations. Many of the artists donate many hours of work into creating their wreath masterpieces and they are truly beautiful works of art.
There usually are some fun bidding wars that take place as the evening (and wine) progresses, so there is great entertainment and excitement in the bidding process to see who will end up finally winning the wreaths more than one person wants! It's all for a great cause, too, because it all goes to help the Museum! This shouldn't scare off those on a budget though, because there are many wreaths and they go for a wide range of prices for just about anyone's price range.
For those who cannot attend the Wreath and Chocolate auction, but still would like to help out the Museum of the Mountain Man and donate to helping support their efforts, you can go to the Museum’s website and browse through their online Trading Post and order from their selection of books and gifts. You can also join the Museum at one of their membership levels. Members get a 10% discount on any purchases in the online store as well as at the gift shop in the Museum.
