Elk on winter range

These elk were seen recently on Ryegrass Road southwest of Daniel. We are fortunate to live in an area where we can frequently see a variety of big game wildlife all year round. In the winter months, deep mountain snow causes the animals to congregate on winter range areas where it is easier for them to move around and they can find forage.
