Why I Love Pinedale!

Below are more comments we have received recently from folks who answered our question about "Why I love Pinedale".

"Last summer my dad and I were in a serious hiking accident while descending Square Top. Thankfully my older brother was along and did not get hurt. He hiked to the Green River Lakes trail head to get help. Everybody involved in the rescue was extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. We were transported to the Pinedale Medical Clinic where everybody was so nice. You could tell that they were genuinely concerned for us.

Tony Chambers was one of the guys who were a part of the rescue and he did a great job. Not only did he keep me calm while they took care of my dad, but when I got to the clinic he stuck around to make sure my brother got all our equipment back and that I wasn't alone.

My dad ended up being transported to Idaho Falls. I left my car at the clinic for a few days. All the doctors and nurses told me to stop back in when I came back for my car. When I came back everybody had a hug for me. There is no way that would happen back home.

I have been to Pinedale many times and will definitely be coming back. Pinedale is my home away from home." - Shari Hanko, Grand Rapids, MI

"I donít just like the Pinedale area; I love the Pinedale area. The scenic beauty and wildlife speak for themselves. Fishing ainít bad either. Summer or winter there is a vacation adventure around every corner, and itís a perfect place to hunker down with a book. Quite; peaceful. For us escapees from the City, it is paradise. The most pleasant surprise, and the real point of this note, is the difference in the people. Maybe it is because life out here requires cooperation, but people out here are different. Everyone is ready, willing and able to lend a helping hand. Every hello is a good long chat. That gives Pinedale its own unique charm. So, every chance we get we head up to Pinedale, The Place and our little paradise cabin on the Green. And, when we arenít there, we dream of coming back." - Brad Bosomworth, San Jose, California

Rene Braun went on a hike into the Wind River Mountains in July and posted a series of pictures and a blog about the July trip. Rene is back in the mountains now finishing the rest of the trip, so check out the blog for more photos from the latest trek. Here are links to the trip in July and to the blog:

"We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in Pinedale (after many years skipping it) and found our friends Rex and Linda from the Great Outdoor Shop as nice as ever. That is what we love about Pinedale some great people who stay true throughout the years. We love you." - Judi Konrad, Charleston, Illinois
