The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) installed signs in Pinedale for the new 25 mph reduced speed limit through town. The Pinedale Town Council approached WYDOT requesting the speed reduction from 30 mph to 25 mph for safety reasons. WYDOT collected public comment for the change over the summer and received only three comments.

The new 25 mph speed limit is in effect from the Fremont Lake Road to the American Legion Park down Pine Street/US Hwy 191. Speed limits on the west end of town were also modified changing the 45 mph zone to include the stretch from the VFW Post to Ehman Lane. WYDOT officials commented that their studies showed drivers had already been adjusting their own driving speeds down to about 25 mph through town because of the increased traffic, pedestrians and congestion.
