Scab Creek Campground Redevelopment Project
BLM Open House March 1 in Pinedale
February 21, 2005
The Pinedale Bureau of Land Management (BLM) office is seeking public comment on the Scab Creek Campground and Trailhead Redevelopment Project. The Scab Creek Campground and trailhead are located approximately 15 miles east of Boulder, south of Pinedale. It is one of the access trailheads into the Bridger Wilderness and middle portion of the Wind River Mountain Range.
The BLM will be hosting a public Open House on March 1st at the Pinedale BLM office to provide more information about the project. "We have invited everyone to join us at a public open house Tuesday, March 1, 2005, from noon until 7:00 p.m., in our office. The public can learn about the project and view the proposed site plans," said Martin Hudson, Outdoor Recreation Planner for the Pinedale BLM. The Pinedale BLM Field Office is located at 432 Tyler St.
This open house is not a public meeting, and no formal presentation is planned. Site plans and other materials will be displayed to help the public become familiar with the project features. "We want the public to provide suggestions on how we can improve the plans to better meet public need. The open house will be an opportunity for free flowing dialogue and discussion on the project," Hudson added.
This recreation site planning effort is part of the BLM Deferred Maintenance Program and is intended to address issues related to facility condition, public health, recreation values and safety. "Presently, restrooms, vehicle parking, trailhead staging areas and campground are inadequate or need relocation to meet existing user demands. This very important access to the Bridger Wilderness also provides substantial area day use recreation opportunities," said Hudson.
For more information on the open house, contact Martin Hudson in the Pinedale BLM Office at (307) 367-5315.
