Wyoming joins suit over Yellowstone sled ban
USA Today: The state of Wyoming has joined a tourism group's lawsuit that challenges National Park Service snowmobile rules in Yellowstone National Park. The lawsuit filed last month by the Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association in U.S. District Court seeks to loosen restrictions that limit the number of snowmobiles allowed in Yellowstone and nearby Grand Teton National Park... Brucellosis 'Test-remove' plan
Casper Star-Tribune: Some elk near Pinedale would be tested for brucellosis, and slaughtered if they test positive, under a plan crafted by the Wyoming Brucellosis Task Force recently. The Task Force final report and recommendations will be presented to Gov. Dave Freudenthal on Jan. 5. The report includes the recommendation to test elk and kill those that test positive in a program that involves a 5-mile fence and 8-foot-tall corral near Pinedale... (more)

UW offers online Entrepreneur training course
University of Wyoming: Wyoming Entrepreneurs take note, UW is offering a 14-week NxLeveL entrepreneurial training course online next month by the University of Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The online program is from Jan. 24 through April 29, with a registration deadline of Jan. 11 set. Space is limited. The program topics include business planning, management, legal structure, marketing, record keeping, financial planning and budgeting, cash flow and financial statements, financing sources, business negotiations, growth issues and more. Participants also will have the opportunity to write a business plan for a new or existing business. Cost for the training is $150, which includes textbook, resource guide and workbook and online fees... (more)

Who was this Wyoming man from 1800s?
University of Wyoming: Forensic scientists are asking Wyoming residents for their help in identifying a man who died in the late 1800s in Wyoming. His remains were found on an active sand dune field 30 miles northeast of Rawlins. He was a white male apparently killed by a gunshot wound. Wyoming residents are being asked to carefully look at a facial reconstruction photograph to see if it stirs any memories that might generate leads and help make a positive identification. Atlantic Productions, based in London, United Kingdom, is producing the "Mummy Autopsy" series for the Discovery Channel which includes a UW segment, airing in early 2005. The program will explore the story behind the Cheyenne Ridge skeleton. The UW one-hour segment on the Discovery Channel will be the final broadcast in the autopsy series... (more)
