Yellowstone National Park is only three hours away from Pinedale and makes a great side trip if you have an extra couple of days while you are here. September is the off season and a good time to visit. The weather is still good and there is much less traffic on the roads and at the sites. Aspen trees are turning a brilliant golden yellow. The big bull elk are bugeling and rounding up their harems of females. Wildlife can be easily seen right your vehicle along the main roads through the park, so be sure to bring your camera!
