These chicks are members of the American Kestrel Falcon family. The American Kestrel is also known as the "Sparrow Hawk", however they are a member of the Falcon family and are not a Hawk. They are generally only four-ounces full grown and measure nine to twelve inches in length. They generally winter in their own rangeland and tolerate cold temperatures. Top speed is 40 mph./djb
