| Description: | Camp GROW is a smaller Summer Camp, with 18 campers per week and approximately 10 staff members. We host 4 weeks of girls camp, followed by 4 weeks of boys camp.
Our Summer Camp dates are: June 18th - August 12th. We would like our cook to be available at least 2 weeks prior to camp and roughly a week after for prep and cleanup.
Summer Camp Pay is $500 per week. We also have a small college group staying from September 6-October 1st that our Summer Camp cook could stay and cook for at a higher contracted wage of $150 daily.
We are looking for one full time cook but also another cook that could possibly float and do maintenance duties as well. Housing, meals, and use of laundry room are all included.
Position responsibilities:
Qualified candidates will have experience in a commercial food preparation environment. Candidate should be cheerful and outgoing, able to rise early and work long hours, and comfortable in all aspects of food service. Our Cook will be responsible for preparing, serving and cleaning duties in the kitchen up to 3 meals per day for 5-6 days per week during the season. Candidate will be responsible for supervision of campers, counselors, and volunteers who may assist with meal preparation, service and clean-up.
Candidate should be flexible, as some days we will not require food service. Typical meal schedules are: Breakfast 6:30 am, Lunch 12:30 pm, Dinner 5:30 pm. Camp typically serves between 20 and 30 people at each meal. Some meals may be brown bagged and we sometimes cook on an open fire at the lake. Numbers may vary and you will work in close conjunction with the Camp Director to plan out meals and food-service orders to meet the needs of the campers.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds independently.
Should have knowledge of accommodating special dietary needs and allergies.
Must have food handlers certification (we can help you obtain if you do not have).
