It was hard to miss the plume today, as the Alpine Fire was very active. According to the National Weather Service the plume was regularly pushing up to 24,000 feet. After today's activity, the fire report should be significantly different from the 23,400 acres currently being reported. I have published a gallery recording the fire activity by time of day on Saturday, September 15, 2012./djb
