GOAL
To
assist Sublette County, Wyoming cancer patients undergoing treatment by
helping to defray the costs of travel, food and lodging which come from
living in a rural location far from treatment centers.
Cancer
treatment alone is costly. In addition, residents of Sublette County who
are diagnosed with cancer travel hundreds of miles for treatments, take
extended time off work, and often require lodging while undergoing treatment.
For some, these added expenses are a burden that can hamper their ability
to receive proper care.
Kickin'
Cancer in Sublette County strives to raise funds through special
fundraising events as well as outright gifts. Donations are tax-deductible.
We are a non-profit, volunteer group formed by local residents.
We welcome suggestions
from anyone whose life has been touched by cancer.

News
Family of Ivy Porter is first to receive assistance from Kickin'
Cancer in Sublette County
In
June 2003, Ivy Porter of Big Piney, age 3, was diagnosed with acute
lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and began a treatment program her doctors
say will take more than 2 years to complete if all goes well. Obviously
this has deeply affected not just Ivy, but Ivy's entire family -
parents Karl and 'Liz and older brother Tanner. Added to the emotional
stress, cost of treatment and the exhausting protocol of caring
for a family member stricken with cancer are the high costs of travel
and lodging to and from Salt Lake City, where Ivy receives her treatment.
Kickin'
Cancer in Sublette County has been raising funds to help
the Porter family cover these travel expenses to Salt Lake.
Ivy's
prognosis is quite good and her attitude, as you can see from the
photos, is excellent!
