Employee will work in a crew of 2-3 people to assess vegetation and range health around the region. Successful applicant will perform all aspects of vegetation inventory following NRCS’s National Resources Inventory (NRI) methodology.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a degree in ecology, botany, range science, soil science, or a related field. Experience with identifying vegetation to species is essential for the position. Ability to work away from home and in a variety of adverse field conditions for up to eight days at a time.
Familiarity with Database for Inventory, Monitoring, and Assessment (DIMA). College level soils class would be helpful. Knowledge of local flora and USDA plant codes.
CPR/First Aid.
