|Title:||Natural Resource Technician|
|Description:||Join an interdisciplinary team to aid in monitoring and managing watersheds throughout Sublette County, WY. The Sublette County Conservation District (SCCD) aims to promote and maintain healthy rangelands, clean water and air and maintain premier wildlife and habitat. The SCCD Natural Resource Technician will work closely with all District programs and partners on projects within Sublette County. |
Knowledge and/or experience in natural resource management.
Ability to work with SCCD staff, agency personnel and private land managers. Excellent communication and relationship skills are mandatory.
Minimum an Associates Degree in Range Management or related field, or two (2) years experience in natural resources.
Computer, software, and technological knowledge and skills expected of natural resource professionals.
Preference to individuals with equestrian and backcountry packing experience; ability to operate and maintain 4-wheel drive vehicles; and comfortable pulling trailers on all road surfaces.
Assists all programs at the SCCD. This involves performing the following duties including, but not limited to: vegetation inventory & monitoring, allotment management plan development, grazing plan development, water quality sampling, macro invertebrate sampling, water measurements, tree program plantings including planting plans and windbreak designs, fence building, surveying, equipment operation, and maintenance of the office grounds.
Coordinates sampling schedules and assimilates information needed to develop data, sample collection points, watershed monitoring locations, and projects. Correctly enters data into database and keeps information current.
Maintains equipment including calibration and cleaning.
Performs GIS mapping and assimilates information needed for project completion and success.
Drafts written reports, reviews proposals, and organizes assignments.
Provides accurate and timely updates of activities, accomplishments, time and financial accounting for projects, and other reporting as required.
Full-time year-round position.
Salary Range: $16.73 to $17.85 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience.
