| Title: | Museum Gift Shop Inventory Manager & Receptionist |
| Description: | Part-time position working 2 to 4 days per week including weekends during the summer season (May – October) with typical hours 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Gift shop ordering and receiving is part time with flexible hours during the winter season (November – April).
Gift Shop Inventory manager will be responsible for ordering, receiving, pricing, stocking, computer entry, maintenance of the Point of Sale computer system, and updating products on the online store. Most of the ordering and receiving is during the winter, but inventory must be managed and systems maintained during the entire year. Must have strong computer skills and close attention to detail. Must be comfortable working with technical support to troubleshoot computer/software issues. Experience with QuickBooks Point of Sale is a plus.
During the summer season this position also includes front desk reception. This is the first person visitors interact with when they come into the Museum. This person greets visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner, takes admissions, handles gift shop sales, answers visitor questions, answers phones, and helps gift shop cleaning. We desire our visitors to receive exemplary customer service. The Receptionist should be comfortable engaging visitors in conversation and desire to make their visit a very positive experience.
Must be punctual, organized, have a friendly cheery personality, and enjoy working with the public, as well as other museum staff. Helpful to be familiar with the local area and able to answer visitor’s questions about local services and things to do. Our ideal candidate would also enjoy history and have some knowledge of local history and/or fur trade history. Must possess friendly telephone answering skills and able to take messages.
