Title:Full-Time Pinedale Technology Manager/Administrative Assistant to the Director
Description:The Sublette County Libraries are seeking a Technology Manager/Administrative Assistant to the Director for the Pinedale Library. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Responsible for managing the Pinedale Library’s computers and devices and assisting the Library Director with Excel spreadsheets, library forms, record keeping and other administrative tasks. This position reports to the Library Director. Benefits included paid holidays, vacation time and sick days, health insurance, a Health Savings Account (HSA) and employer donations to the Wyoming State Retirement System.

Requirements: Competent in Microsoft Excel; skilled in the use of computers, software and technology (experience with networks and hardware repair not required); good troubleshooting skills and ability to teach technology skills. Bachelor’s degree desired but not required.

Position Title: Full-Time Pinedale Technology Manager/Administrative Assistant to the Director

Starting Pay Rate: $41,400 to $43,700 per year depending on education and experience.

Nature of Work:
Works under the library director assembling statistical reports on library use, keeping records of library board meetings, creating library in-house forms, and performing other administrative tasks. Also responsible for maintaining and upgrading library computers and other technology. Helps staff and patrons with technological difficulties. Works regularly scheduled shifts on all public service desks providing a broad spectrum of services to all patrons.

Organizational Status:
This is a full-time non-exempt permanent position.
Reports to the Library Director.

Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Has strong technology skills. Some familiarity with both PC and Apple platforms. Able to evaluate hardware and software purchases. Ability to set up a new computer, manage updates, and troubleshoot software issues. No knowledge of networking or hardware repair required.

2. Works with the library bookkeeper, webmaster, and other staff as required.

3. Has strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to create reports as needed on various facets of library use, spending and budget.

4. Works closely with the Executive Director to develop a technology plan, maintain and purchase computers and other devices, and troubleshoot problems.

5. Routinely trains staff in technological skills.

6. Works regular shifts on the library circulation desks.

7. Participates in professional library organizations such as American Library Association (ALA), Public Library Association (PLA), Wyoming Library Association (WLA), WYLD Consortium and others as appropriate. Attends training and meetings.

1. Interprets and applies library policy.

2. Meets the needs of patrons by providing comprehensive service.

3. Ability to troubleshoot a patron’s ability to load e-resources on their devices.

4. Assists in maintaining appearance of the library and monitors patron use of the library.

5. Books meeting rooms.

6. Attends informational and instructional meetings and workshops.

7. Opens and closes the library as needed.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain good working relationships with library staff and patrons.

2. Ability to work in groups, demonstrating a willingness to contribute ideas, maintain flexibility, and support changes within the organization. Ability to perform detailed tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

3. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of basic math skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instruction. Organized, efficient, and self-disciplined.

4. Possesses patience and good teaching skills; ability to communicate technological skills.

5. Ability to perform a variety of duties without supervision.

6. Must possess a reputation of honesty, integrity, and reliability.

7. Must have the desire and ability to serve the public in a calm and professional manner.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
• Education-
a. Requires high school diploma or GED.

b. College degree preferred.
• Experience-
a. Requires public service work experience

b. Prefer two years of experience working in a library setting.

Working Environment:
1. Must be willing to work a varied schedule which will include nights, weekends and holidays. The schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the library.

2. Must be able and willing to travel throughout the county as well as to attend national and state conferences or meetings.

Physical Demands:
1. Must possess the mobility to work in the library setting which includes the ability to stand, squat, stoop, stretch, lift, carry, shelve and retrieve books and materials (generally not exceeding 50 lbs.) from shelves and storage locations. Must be able to push a book truck weighing up to 100 lbs.

2. Must possess the ability to read routine documents and a computer screen.

3. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with the public both in person and over the telephone.
