Update June 1, 2007: Construction has begun on the Sand Draw Ambulance Barn.

Sand Draw Rescue Center
Four major industrial operators – EnCana Oil and Gas (USA), Ultra Petroleum, Shell Rocky Mountain and BP - kicked in $900,000 for the new $1.4 million building, while Sublette County Commissioners allocated another $500,000. The county health care district agreed to fully staff the facility once it is completed, which is anticipated to be April 1, 2007. The site is located approximately 22 miles south of Pinedale and 25 miles east of Marbleton, near the junction of Highway 191 and 351.

The ambulance barn will host a full ambulance crew 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The center will also house facilities for a sheriff’s deputy and emergency managers who respond to hazardous waste incidents. The 4,600 square foot center will have three vehicle bays, office space and bunk room. It will house a new ambulance and associated medical equipment, along with space for a computer lab, restrooms, kitchen and office space for the agencies to be housed there. Plans for the complex include another building and training and classroom space.

Local architect/builders, Chambers Design-Build, are the general contractors for the Ambulance Barn. A Request for Subcontractor Bids was published in the Public Notices of the Sublette Examiner newspaper in early January, with bids due January 31st by 4 pm. Bids will be read aloud at the office of the Sublette County Clerk on January 31. Contract documents will be available in mid-January from Chambers Design-Build and a copy available for viewing at their office. Prequalification Applications are due back in the office of CDBI by January 15, 2007.
